September is here! Summer has come and gone and the kids are back in school. As I anxiously await the cooler weather and beautiful fall foliage, I remind myself how September is always the perfect month for me to get “back on track.”
The change of season from summer to fall was always a great time to de-clutter and re-organize my home and my life. There is nothing more important to me than being able to go through the beginning of the school year and the start of the holiday season feeling happy, healthy, organized and clutter-free!
To help start your September off right, here are four things for you to do to make this year’s change of season healthier:
1. Pick up the September Issue of Real Simple magazine and turn to page 50. Read the “splatters in the microwave” and “shards of glass in the dishwasher” recipes to make your fall cleaning go quicker.
2. Log on to http://www.maidbrigade.com/survey and take our survey about work/life balance, household chores and cleaning. The survey only takes about 5 minutes. After completing the survey, you are automatically entered for a chance to win $1,000 worth of free house cleaning from Maid Brigade! Deadline for submissions is Friday, September 28, 2012.
Maid Brigade's 2011 Work/Life Balance Survey showed more than 72 percent of women feel they work a "second shift" when it comes to balancing work and keeping a healthy home. Taking the survey will help you see where you are when it comes to balancing work, family, chores, and life, and it helps Maid Brigade do a better job at helping you meet your needs.
3. Follow Maid Brigade on Facebook and Twitter. The new Facebook page and Work/Life Balance Survey was launched in honor of Women’s Equality Day, Aug. 26 – a commemoration of women’s continuing struggle for full equality. The new Maid Brigade Facebook page serves as an environment for women to discuss issues related to home, work, family, and life.
According to Bart Puett, President of Maid Brigade, “Women seem to have more on their plates today than ever before and often less support than in years past. Maid Brigade’s goal is to “use this interactive platform to create a supportive community in which today’s busy women can share the trials and tribulations they face trying to “do it all,” and solutions to help them achieve their goals while maintaining a healthy balance.”
4. Mark your calendars. Maid Brigade will be giving away $2,500 worth of cleaning and other great prizes! More details to follow soon. Also, look out for Maid Brigade's latest videos on "quick and easy cleaning tips to make your cleaning time go faster," due out this fall.
