Helping Others Live A Greener, Healthier Life

August 2010

Last year, my husband and I were asked to be part of a new reality TV series called Breakthrough with Tony Robbins.  Robbins chose six families, all with different struggles in their lives, and helped them overcome tough obstacles to get back on the right track.  The show recently aired two of its six episodes.

The August 3rd episode featured my husband and I, who were on the verge of divorce and foreclosure after we invested our life savings into a business that failed.  We were faced with extreme financial and personal stress.  Through a series of challenges and thirty days of one on one coaching with Tony Robbins, my husband and I achieved our "breakthrough," and as a team we got back on the path of happiness and life.  During one of our challenges, Robbins puts us out on the streets of Los Angeles, on Skid Row, to work as a team and survive.  Although I would rather be anywhere else at this time, I have to admit that living on the streets for seven days and nights has made me realize what matters most to me in my life.  One of those things was to help others in any way that I can.

Robbins also presented us with job opportunities.  Through Allison O' Kelley, CEO of Mom Corps, I was able to find a flexible job as a Consumer Health Advocate with a company known as Maid Brigade.  Maid Brigade has given me the job of my dreams, where I can educate people and help them make healthier choices.  Because of Maid Brigade, I am now able to balance my work, my home life and my children.

Maid Brigade is an eco-friendly cleaning service that cares about families and the environment.  They are the pioneers of the green house cleaning movement and have developed their own certified green cleaning system.  Their housecleaning services are proven to be safe, reliable and consistent because they use non-toxic green cleaning solutions and state-of-the-art equipment to clean your home.

In my role as Consumer Health Advocate, I educate families on toxic chemicals that are found in products we use everyday, and the impact these chemicals have on our health and our environment.  Through blog.maidbrigade.com and greencleancertified.com, I share natural and green recipes and tips that families can try instead of using toxic chemicals.  I also offer ways to clean green and live healthy and chemical-free.

I am extremely proud to work for a company that advocates so passionately for its consumers, and I am very grateful to Maid Brigade for giving me the opportunity to have a career that I take pride in.
